🔌 Channel Connection (Add Instagram Account)
Connecting your account is very simple and uses Meta’s official system:- Click + Add Instagram Account.
- An OAuth (Facebook/Meta) window will open. Log in with the Facebook account that manages your Instagram page.
- Accept the permissions. That’s it! Your account will appear in the main list.
🎛️ Managing Connected Accounts
In the main table you’ll see a summary of your integrations:- Instagram Account: Shows the profile picture and username of the connected account.
- AI Agent: Indicates which brain is currently handling that Instagram account.
-
Visibility (Switch): The on/off toggle.
- 🔵 ON: The agent is active and replying to DMs.
- ⚪ OFF: The agent is paused. Messages will still appear in Livechat, but the AI will not reply.
- Edit (Pencil) ✏️: Opens the side menu to change the assigned agent.
🤖 Agent Assignment (Customise Agent)
When you click the edit button or on an agent labelledUnknown Agent, the Customise Agent side panel will open:
-
Configure: Simply open the AI Agent dropdown and choose which personality you want to handle this social channel.
- Tip: You can have an agent specialised for Instagram that uses more emojis and a more relaxed tone than the one on your website.
- Save configuration: Click it and your agent will start working on Instagram instantly!
🎓 Best Practice Summary (Cheat Sheet)
- Livechat support: Remember that all Instagram conversations also appear in the Livechat module. If a customer becomes difficult in a DM, you can step in manually and take control.
- Business accounts: Instagram only allows these integrations for accounts set up as Business or Creator, and linked to a Facebook Page. Make sure this is configured in your Instagram app before attempting the connection.
- Instant responses: The biggest advantage of this integration is speed. Instagram users expect replies in seconds — with the AI Agent active, you’ll always deliver.
